Chinese tech giant Baidu has launched two new artificial intelligence models, with Ernie X1 positioned as a direct competitor to DeepSeek R1. Ernie X1 offers comparable performance at half the price, boasting enhanced capabilities in comprehension, planning, reflection, and evolution. Additionally, Baidu has upgraded its flagship model, Ernie 4.5, enhancing its linguistic and emotional proficiencies. Both models will be open-sourced starting June 30, reflecting China’s push to bolster its domestic tech sector.
